Development of a theoretical model for upright postural control in lower limb prosthesis users

چکیده

Abstract Methods used to assess quiet standing in unilateral prosthesis users often assume validity of an inverted pendulum model despite this being shown as invalid some instances. The aim the current study was evaluate a proposed unilaterally-constrained pin-controller explaining postural control users. Prosthesis were contrasted against theoretical able-bodied controls that stood on platform which unilaterally constrained movement CoP. All participants completed bouts with eyes open, closed and feedback inter-limb weight bearing asymmetry. Correlation coefficients infer behavior both anteroposterior mediolateral directions derived from kinematic (body attached markers) kinetic (centre pressure) experimental data. Larger, negative correlation reflected better adherence, whilst low or no poorer adherence. Inverted data, indicated high magnitude (all cases range 0.71–0.78) (0.88–0.91) directions, irrespective groups. data direction large associated unconstrained/intact limbs (prosthesis users: − 0.45 0.65, group: 0.43 0.72), small constrained/prosthetic 0.02 0.07, 0.13–0.26) combined conditions 0.36 0.56, 0.71 0.82). For direction, negligible for individual (0.03–0.17) moderate correlations, group (− 0.31 0.73). Data suggested users’ individuals’ conforms well predicted by model, has implications fundamental posture transtibial

An autologus lower limb prosthesis.

Van Nes rotationplasty is a reconstructive and salvage procedure of the lower limb. The technique replaces the amputated thigh and knee with an autologus biological 'prosthesis', the patient's own ipsilateral ankle, which is rotated 180 degrees and fixed at the level of the contralateral knee. This procedure was first adapted by Borggreve of Germany in 1930 to treat a knee joint destroyed by tu...

The effect of six weeks selected physical training on balance, postural control and lower limb function in children with Meningomyelocele

Meningomyelocele after cerebral palsy is the most common congenital defects of the nervous system that impairs the functioning of many body’s structures. This study aimed to assess the effect of six weeks selected physical training on balance, postural control and lower limb function in children with Meningomyelocele. In this quasi-experimental study, 10 boys aged 10-11 years with Meningomyeloc...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
